Large Item Disposal Dumpster Available on October 17

  • Event Details:

    Our neighborhood will receive three dumpsters for free disposal of household trash and large household items, such as washers, sofas, etc. for the day. Our next scheduled dumpster day will be Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (times approximate) at the following locations:

    • 2602 Acacia Place
    • 925 West River Lane
    • 507 West Memory Lane

    Please note the following rules:

    • No hazardous waste!
      • Paint, oil, tires, etc.
      • Please see below for how to properly dispose of these items.
    • No electronics waste!
      • Televisions, computer monitors, glass material
      • Please see below for how to properly dispose of these items.
    • Heavy items at bottom one (1) foot of dumpster only!
      • Dirt, concrete, rock, brick, tile
    • Do not overfill!
      • Dumpster cannot be removed unless it is level.

    Dumpsters are located outside select households in our neighborhood and those neighbors will be responsible for monitoring that the above rules are followed. Please be aware that dumpsters will likely fill ahead of the scheduled end time so please prepare to arrive earlier rather than later.

    What If I Miss This Date?
    It’s okay if you miss this date or if the dumpster is too full on October 17 as FREE large item pick-up is available twice per year for Santa Ana residents. To arrange for this service, contact Waste Management at (714) 558-7761.

    Electronics Waste Pick Up Service
    FREE door-to-door collection of “universal waste,” including household batteries; fluorescent tubes and bubs; electronic devices, such as TVs and computers; and mercury-containing devices, such as old thermometers and thermostats is available to residents of Santa Ana in single family homes. To receive this service, call (800) 449-7587 to make an appointment. No hazardous chemicals, such as motor oil, paint, or pesticides, are accepted through this program.

    Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites – Available Year Round
    Outside of October 17, the following sites are able to take hazardous materials from TUESDAY through SATURDAY, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. only:

    • 1071 Blue Gum Avenue in Anaheim
    • 17121 Nichols Street in Huntington Beach
    • 32250 La Pata Avenue in San Juan Capistrano
    • 6441 Oak Canyon Road in Irvine
